DVD REPLICATION

DVD Replication becomes cost effective when you require more than 500 copies of your DVD. If you need less than 500 DVDs then DVD Duplication will be more economic. Replicated DVDs are manufactured using an injection moulding process whereby the data is physically pressed into the disc. Replicated discs are the highest quality and longest lasting method of producing DVDs; they are also playable on more devices than Duplicated DVD-R's.

Media Technology Replicate the following DVD types

• DVD5 - a single layer of data on one side of the disc. Holds up to 4.7GB
• DVD9 - two layers of data on one side of the disc. Holds 8.54GB
• DVD10 - one layer of data on each side of the disc. DVD10 discs are most commonly used when both PAL and NTSC formats are required on the same disc. Holds 9.4GB

DVD is now the most commonly used form of optical disc storage. DVD is an abbreviation of Digital Versatile Disc. It is ‘versatile' because it can hold data, audio or video. DVDs have been in wide use since 1997. Media Technology produced New Zealand 's first DVD-ROM disc in 1998 for Virtual Spectator.

Supplying a master for DVD Replication

We prefer to receive your DVD Master on a DLT tape as this is most stable format and the end result will be the highest quality discs possible. We can accept your master on DVD-R and DVD+R discs, as well as dual layer DVD-R discs. You can also supply your master as a DDP file burnt to a DVD-R. If supplying a master for DVD9 discs you can layer0 DDP file on one disc and Layer1 DDP file on a second disc. It is important that you check your master carefully prior to giving it to us to replicate. The replicated DVDs we produce will be exact copies of your master.

Supplying artwork for DVD Replication

Your Replicated DVDs will be offset printed if you supply CMYK artwork or screen printed if you supply art work in Pantone colours. Please supply your artwork as a pdf with links embedded and fonts converted to paths or outlines. Please do not flatten the template into the artwork. We can also accept Adobe Creative Suite 3 formats Illustrator, Photo Shop and InDesign.
